 Saidu Koroma was 4 years old when he started Salvation Orphanage home story when both his loving parents perished October 2014 in the tragic Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. Despite many organizations trying to step in to help these children of tragedy, Saidu and others weren’t receiving any help from generous individual donors or large wealthy nonprofit organizations.

As the first child of his parents who had no siblings survived the Ebola epidemic disease after losing both parents no one to care for him expect his little friend of the same age who were their neighbor, Saidu’s friend was a very close neighbor who loved him very much share any food been given to him by his parent, as a childhood friend he urged his parents to do anything been done to him. Later, the parents of Saidu’s friend took him home ,unfortunately for Saidu his beloved friend passed away in an accident ,Saidu started another tragic story of his life.   His prospects of a healthy childhood were shattered. Like so many other children in Sierra Leone a future of hopelessness, starvation, homelessness and death awaited poor Saidu. His situation was unthinkable, and Salvation Orphanage Home of Faith was happy to get involved.

Saidu was taken to our home here at Salvation Orphanage; we now have the responsibility of feeding, clothing and schooling him in a loving and Christian environment. With partners like you we’re able to provide Saidu and others just like him with a life with hope and opportunities of good life.

In our care, because of the help and support of so many we’re able to provide Saidu and others like him shelter from the harsh conditions, food for nourishment, a relationship with Jesus Christ, and a Christ centered education here in our community. We’re always counting on those generous donations to come. We don’t ask for much but we do need something.
